Pages and forms

Short pages, clear offers, forms that ask what matters

Copy, layout, mobile checks and form setup for pages that sit behind your ads, built on a platform you control.

The parts of a working landing page

Most lead-capture pages built for paid traffic share the same short list of parts, whatever the industry:

  • A headline that echoes the ad the visitor clicked
  • A plain explanation of the offer and who it is for
  • Proof you can stand behind, such as licenses or service areas, where they apply
  • A short form with clear labels
  • Consent wording next to the submit button, with a link to your privacy policy
  • A thank-you page that says what happens next
  • Tracking that records each submission once

None of these is complicated on its own. The work is in fitting them together so a visitor on a small screen can read the offer, fill in the form and get a clear confirmation without friction.

Consent wording, privacy link and thank-you page

Three small pieces of a landing page carry more weight than their size suggests.

Consent wording. If your team will call or text people who submit the form, the wording beside the submit button needs to cover that. The exact text is your decision, made with your own counsel; a provider places the approved wording and keeps it visible on every page version.

Privacy link. The form should link to your privacy policy so visitors can see how their details are handled.

Thank-you page. After submitting, people should land on a page confirming the request arrived and explaining what happens next, such as who will be in touch. This page is also a common place to record the conversion for GA4 and ad platforms, which keeps counting simple and avoids counting the same person twice.

Access and assets to have ready

Projects stall most often while someone looks for a login. Gathering these before work starts helps:

  • Admin or editor access to your website or page builder, added as a separate user
  • Access to your domain's DNS settings, if a new subdomain is needed
  • Your logo in a sharp format and your brand colors
  • Photos you own or have licensed for this use
  • The address that should receive form submissions, or CRM access
  • Your privacy policy link
  • Access to Google Tag Manager, GA4 and your ad accounts for tracking

Share access by adding users, not by sending passwords. Most platforms support this, and it makes removing access at the end a matter of a few clicks.

Questions about landing pages and forms

Do I need a separate landing page if I already have a website?

Not always. If your site already has a focused page for the service you advertise, with a clear form and fast loading on phones, it may work as is. A separate page helps when ads point at a home page with many paths, or when different campaigns need different offers.

What is message match?

It means the landing page repeats what the ad said. If the ad mentions a specific service or offer, the page headline and opening lines should mention the same thing. Visitors who see something different from what they clicked often leave without reading further.

How long should a page test run?

Long enough to cover normal weekly patterns and to collect enough submissions on both versions to compare them. On small accounts that can take a while, and sometimes there is not enough traffic for a formal test at all. In that case changes are made one at a time and watched over a longer period.

You keep the accounts and the data. Ask a service partner to quote the hands-on work.
